The physicians of Dallas Oncology Consultants are pleased to announce the opening of The Cancer Institute of Dallas, a new and modern, community-based, cancer research and treatment center located in Duncanville, along the eastern service road of Highway 67, between Main Street and Danieldale Road.
The Institute is the realization of a dream for our established practice of experienced hematologists and oncologists – a place where patients can receive the cancer treatment and support previously available only at hospitals in a caring, comfortable setting close to their homes in southern Dallas County and points beyond.
We’ve designed the Institute from the ground up to provide state-of-the-art care in a setting specifically designed to soothe and comfort patients, their families and friends. Our mission is to take a compassionate, holistic approach to patient care – and we take great pride in the fact that our medical team comprises the area leaders in clinical research, offering a wide range of opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials.
We are also delighted to announce that Dr. Timothy Nichols is joining the Institute to provide again Radiation Oncology services to our community.
A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Nichols is well known to many in our physician community. From July 1992 to March 2005, he served in the medical staff of Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, providing radiation oncology care to patients in both the Dallas and Charlton campuses.
Dr. Nichols has ample experience in the latest advances in radiation technology, such as the GammaMed, Nucletron and VariSource after loading systems, treating both breast and GYN tumors with HDR brachytherapy and the use of the Novalis BrainLab stereotactic system. For years he has treated patients on the Leksell Gamma-knife unit at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He has experience in IMRT, radiosurgery, prostate and gynecologic brachytherapy as well as partial breast irradiation with the MammoSite, Contura, SAVI, ClearPath and Xoft systems.
